Project Hell

Project Hell

Let me assign you project hell. Now you have hell to create, how will you do it?

No seriously, what will be your blueprint? Will you create a place full of fire and demons or will you add torture devices to your world? Or large monsters who will fry souls in oil?  Or maybe all of it. But that would definitely require a lot of labor and functioning, really hard to maintain, lot of work if you ask a guy like me.

Now, if you are little subtle and a lot intelligent you may want to go for a more phycological route rather than just a physical one.

A world in which most of suffering comes from not just physical pain but also from mental distortions and disfunctions. And they both complement each other.

To that I would say well, you are smart. A world in which you create a prison not in the physical sense but on a personal level. People trapped inside their own minds alone with their own personal dysfunctions and phycological malfunctions with no hope of escape.

But even for that you will still need triggers to create such situations that induces phycological suffering.

Labour for hell

For that my friend I would suggest that the best triggers would be other prisoners of that hell. now you may be thinking, other prisoners?

Someone once said, “hell is others”.  Yes, most of your suffering comes from others if you haven’t noticed. Sometimes because of their presence and other times because of their absence, you suffer.

Actually, most people underestimate the extent to which others impact their life.  Now you see you won’t even need any demons or labour, that work will be done by other prisoners/residents who are also suffering in your hell. They will act as hell to each other…… perfect, right?

As for physical suffering I will suggest that you go for a body, rather than torture devices. A body prone to many and many ailments. A body which decays with time. A body which at best is a slow but sure burn and at worst …just a burn.

The missing ingredient

But your work is not done yet. The most important component is still missing. You see, no conscious intelligent being will accept straight away suffering and pain. They will do everything in their power to get rid of it.

They well cry, fight, revolt and if nothing else works, straight away reject this existence by any means necessary. Everyone who you will put into this hell of yours will eventually reject or revolt against your whole system. Like for example, if you have a severe migraine without any hope of relief by the third day you will be considering ending your life just to get rid of it.

Other problem is suffering does not work without contrast. If you have headache since your birth, you will never know that there is a state without headache. If everyone is born without a leg, it’s not suffering, it’s normal. So, suffering needs contrast to exist. It needs a spectrum, and it needs someone who can recognize that spectrum.

A stone and a solution

Well, you can hit these two birds with one stone. Enters, pleasure and happiness. No, no don’t be disheartened you don’t have to actually make people really happy in your hell, just sprinkle a little bit of it here and there.

What you actually have to do is to spread the idea of it. The idea that the residents of your hell can be happy sooner or later. Yes, there is a lot of pain and suffering here but listen to me…. there is a lot of happiness and joy too, you just don’t have it yet or you just don’t have it enough yet.

You see, what you actually want them to have, is a little bit of pleasure and a lot of hope. Yes hope, you would want them to have hope in your world. Hope and belief that this world is not all bad. Yes, there is suffering, but there is pleasure too, yes there is a lot of sorrow but there is joy too. Yes, you may be a devil to them but there is somewhere a God too. Now, they will not revolt, now they will endure. Now, they will take on all the horrendous sufferings in hope of something better.

Plus, now your hell have a spectrum and contrast for suffering to boom and propagate. You see, suffering is just a tool, just like pleasure is just a tool. What makes a hell truly a hell is not suffering but misery.

Misery is the real goal here. The trick is to make them not want to give up on the hell no matter how bad things are. They will never give up on this hell or leave this hell, even if you leave the doors of this hell open.

There is another saying that says “the door of the hell is locked from inside”. In this context it makes perfect sense.

So here we are.

So, what do you have now? What is the final product? By now you may have realized, the hell you have created already exist. It is this world. The world you and I live in.

A bit extreme you say. No, it’s not that bad here you say. But remember, the door of hell is locked from inside.

Think of the worst torture or suffering you can think of. Yes, go on. I bet you, whatever you thought already is happening or has happened in this world. And if you think that’s not the case, to that I would say you are a little less informed. I would suggest a little research.

All the good things in this world are good only in name, in illusion, in hope. You can’t be too happy because happiness will become stale, boredom soon. I am sure you may have had good moments but, they are sparsely spread like sprinkle of handful of water over the vast barren land we call life. But they serve their purpose, they keep you hooked for the rest of the barren.

A perfect hell

Your body is a tool of torture. If you are young, it reminds you this from time to time, but as the time goes it will only be more evident. Your mind is your prison in which your personal hell is. Your personal issues and pains. And then there are others, others like you who have their own miseries and issues. Many walking disfunctions colliding with each other.

All this if one is lucky. The degree of misery and suffering this world can put you in is actually quite unfathomable. I won’t go much deeper into that, you already know. You may be in denial in the moment but if you haven’t been living under a rock you do know. But even if you were living under a rock, I would argue you still know, after all that rock and you would still be in this world. I have always said this, it’s not that we all love it here, it’s only that we are too afraid of the alternative. The alternative that we will inevitably going to have anyway.

If I have to send someone to hell I would send them here. And if I have to create hell, I will take the blueprint from this exact one we live in. Because, I have to admit, the creator of this one is a master in the profession.
